\" class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-1725-2-0-1\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Lead by Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk Hw\u00ebch\u2019in, it was a collective effort that increased understanding within the community and built a strong foundation for the collaborative management of the site. Following the inscription of Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk Klondike to the World Heritage List, the Parties signed the <em>Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Concerning the Joint Management and Protection of Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk Klondike World Heritage Site<\/em>. This document commits the Parties in mutual agreement to protect the Outstanding Universal value of Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk-Klondike and its components.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-1725-2-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-1725-2-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"4\" ><div style=\"margin-bottom: 20px !important; \" class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-1725-2-1-0\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>The Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk\u2013Klondike World Heritage Site Management Plan provides a framework for the collaboration between the managing jurisdictions and outlines a management\u00a0 system to conserve the heritage and\u00a0 cultural values of Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk-Klondike. The Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk-Klondike Stewardship Committee, made up of representatives from all four governments- Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk Hw\u00ebch\u2019in, Government of Yukon, Parks Canada and the City of Dawson- is responsible for the implementation of the plan.\u00a0 The Stewardship Committee guides the collaborative management of TKWHS and ensures the conservation, protection, presentation and transmission of the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk-Klondike World Heritage Advisory Committee provides advice and recommendations to the Stewardship Committee. This committee includes representatives from the four governments, Klondike Visitors Association, Dawson City Chamber of Commerce, Dawson City Museum and local residents. The Advisory Committee represents community organizations with an interest in the presentation, promotion, and development of Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk-Klondike that is compatible with its Outstanding Universal Value. The purpose, structure, and responsibilities of the Stewardship Committee and of the Advisory Committee are outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding and approved Terms of References.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-1725-3\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div class=\"siteorigin-panels-stretch panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-1725-3\" style=\"margin-top: 0px !important; \" data-stretch-type=\"full-width-stretch\" ><div id=\"pgc-1725-3-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div class=\"panel-cell-style panel-cell-style-for-1725-3-0\" ><div id=\"panel-1725-3-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-headline panel-first-child\" data-index=\"5\" ><div style=\"margin-bottom: 20px !important; \" class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-1725-3-0-0\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-headline so-widget-sow-headline-default-d5025ad01ff2-1725\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><div class=\"sow-headline-container \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"sow-headline\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tInscription\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-1725-3-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-headline\" data-index=\"6\" ><div style=\"margin-bottom: 30px !important; \" class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-1725-3-0-1\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-headline so-widget-sow-headline-default-bd93e78fdad2-1725\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><div class=\"sow-headline-container \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"sow-headline\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe nomination dossier of the Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk-Klondike serial site was submitted to  the World Heritage Centre in February 2021 for evaluation.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-1725-3-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-last-child\" data-index=\"7\" ><div style=\"margin-bottom: 20px !important; \" class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-1725-3-0-2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>A panel of experts reviewed the nomination dossier over the next fourteen months, including a site visit and evaluation. The decision to inscribe the site to the World Heritage List was made by the World Heritage Committee and announced at the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in September, 2023. Tr\u2019ond\u00ebk-Klondike was added to the World Heritage List as a serial cultural property. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage site inscription is for exceptional places around the world that are considered to have Outstanding Universal Value. This period in history came at the turn of the twentieth century, when the experience of colonialism had already been disrupting lives, cultures, and societies around the world for centuries.
